Throughout my many years of listening to hip hop, no other words have stuck with me as much as the ones above from Raekwon the Chef. This is because the man speaks truth. While the context of the excerpt refers to rappers. I think it can apply to people in all aspects of creative thinking and problem solving whether it be business or art. In short, these are the values I implicitly extract from Raekwon’s words: stay true to yourself, do your own thing, don’t follow the next man, maintain your own vision, progress and development will occur if the aforementioned values are embraced.
