Two Halves struggle in a world of Wholes until they find each other. A mixture of India and Chinese Ink was used for this strip. The jump off for this strip was a song by a Montreal band called Stars called “Personal”. It’s about two people looking unsuccessfully for a relationship through the classifieds. I took the themes of rejection, loneliness, and longing from the song and applied them to the strip. Peep the song in the YouTube clip below.
Thanks to my wife Christine for her help on the logistics of the story.

I think in this day and age – the thing that brings two halves together like your strip is technology – you could have easily put a computer between them and that would be perfectly logical with the growth and explosion of online dating and its’ social acceptance. I remember not too many years ago when people who would put ads into classified sections of newspapers or phone-dating were considered weird – but now, online dating that often leads to marriages is commonplace and not taboo. It’s a good way for people who don’t fit in like your two halves descripted in your strip to reach beyond their social circles and meet others more like them.
Hi Altalicious! Thanks for the insightful comments. Glad to see that the strip triggered some great ideas and tangential thinking!
