Black Rainbow Comics “A Random Act of Kindness”

This was a fun  strip to produce. I experiemented a lot with  a Winsor & Newton Series 7 Sable brush as well as a new Kolinsky Sable Size 1 brush I recieved as a Valentine’s Day present from my wife. I tried to be more courageous, looser and spontaneous with the brush work. The monster is definitely influenced by the character designs found within Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are”. The sweeping young ballerina was referenced through Google Images. Her body positioning and dress was loosely sketched out in pencil first before inks were applied.

I am really happy with the outcome of this strip. I think it is one of my favourites so far both conceptually and aesthetics wise. Anyhow, I hope y’all like it. Enjoy and catch you next week.
